🛒 Where & How to Buy the Vignette
Since 2022, Slovenia uses a digital vignette system. You don’t need a physical sticker anymore. You can purchase your vignette:
- Online at the official DARS portal
- At gas stations near the border (OMV, Petrol, MOL)
- At selected toll booths and border crossings
Once purchased, the e-vignette is tied to your vehicle’s license plate. You will receive a confirmation email for your records.
Fines for Driving Without a Vignette
Driving without a valid vignette on toll roads in Slovenia is considered a serious offense and can result in a fine of up to €300.
Automated cameras and mobile inspectors regularly check license plates. Make sure your digital vignette is valid for the correct dates and vehicle type.
Do I Need a Vignette?
If you’re driving on highways or expressways in Slovenia, you need a vignette. You do not need it for local roads, city driving, or if you’re just passing through a border town without using toll roads.
